As Medical Director of the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Inpatient Units at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Dr. Patel has more than 15 years of experience caring for adults with autism, intellectual disability, and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

He helps with:

• Aggression, self-injury, agitation, and other challenging behaviors

• Co-occurring depression, anxiety, mood, and psychotic disorders

• Medication review and simplification, especially for patients on multiple psychiatric medications

• Coordination with families, guardians, group homes, day programs, and behavioral teams

Care is unhurried and family-centered, with longer visits so caregivers can be fully heard.
